Paragliding in Busan!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was an amazing experience! It wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be!!
It turned into a whole day event because we had to wait for the correct wind speed/strength(??). So basically you start with the drive up to the top of the mountain, enjoy a picnic while waiting for the wind, get suited up, run off the edge of the mountain and then enjoy the view from the sky!!
It was soooooo beautiful up there! Clear blue sky above, a mountain below with green trees that have just come back to life after winter, a river leisurely flowing and the wind gently swooshing in my ear.
It all lasted for just under 10 minutes, but I’ll keep the memory of the experience forever!!

Where: Busan
Company: Color Dream (colordream@yahoo.kr)
Cost: 100 000won for 10-15 minutes depending on wind strength

MUDFEST!!!
MUD FEST!!!!!!
The beach, sunshine(followed by rain) and mud!!
Mud fest is Korea’s biggest festival and attracts lots of foreigners. It felt like spring break for us. I went as part of a group from Gwangju in 2 tour buses to Boryeong. The trip was organised by Pedro Kim from Lonely Korea. He booked transport and accomodation(pensions) for us. All we had to do was show up.
I was surprised and overwhelmed at how many foreigners were at the festival. I live in a small town with only 2 other foreigners so it was great to see so many other people like me…covered in mud.
There were activities like mud wrestling, mud sliding, mud body painting, mud volleyball and chilled activities like mud massages, fireworks, chilling on the beach or taking part in the various drinking games that were going on! There was a beer tent, stalls selling food (but no restaurants where you can sit down and have a proper meal) and LOTS of stalls selling alcohol. Everyone was drunk or tipsy and the atmosphere was very merry.
I enjoyed rolling around in the mud, EVERY part of my body was covered in mud but I didn’t mind because of the beneficial properties of the Boryeong mud! It was great to just let go and get dirty!
When evening came, the rain started pouring, but it didn’t dampen our moods. We showered and changed out of our muddy bikinis into clean clothes and dancing shoes and danced the night(and morning) away at SS Club!!
Weekend well spent! :-)
Herb Hillz Eco adventure park
This was such a fun weekend. The eco adventure park is in Daegu so it was a road trip for us.
It was such a scenic park with springs, waterfalls beautiful trees all around and pretty flowers in all colours of the rainbow! I can’t even begin to describe all the beauty of this eco-park. There was a lot to do too. Theres a mini amusement park, a cooking school (for making herbs like lavendar and peppermint), a craft room (were you could make cake candles, pot plants, dolls and other crafts), restaurants, gift shops and an eco adventure course.
We went for the eco adventure course. It’s a really fun ziplining course with diffrent obstacles to do between each zipline. Amoung others, theres rope climbing, tight rope walking, tarzan swinging, monkey bridge and skiing (yes skiing) from one tree to the other! They have 5 courses differing by level of difficulty: chimpanzee course, monkey course, tarzan course, gorilla course and king kong course.
I did the king kong course. It was a great, fun workout with 15 obstacles between the ziplines. The whole course took about an hour and 30 mintes to complete. The other great thing was the view. The eco adventure course is right above the park so you can see everything and everyone on the ground and they can see you
I’ll definately do this again before I leave Korea and I recommend Eco adventure park to anyone visiting Daegu.
Address: Daegu-si Dalseong-gun Gachang-myeon Yonggye-ri 534-1
Costs 19 000won for entrance into the park and ziplining.
sun-kissed.
